Instacanvas and iPhoneography

After years toting a Blackberry I made the Apple conversion complete last month with the purchase of the iPhone. I really liked the Blackberry. However, keeping contacts synced across my other devices resulted in too many duplicates. The young lady who helped us at the AT&T store asked, “Do you really have almost 3000 contacts?” “No,” I replied.

I worked late several evenings to delete or merge duplicate contacts. The real number is somewhere around 700. And, many of those are old contacts I need to clean up further. I could likely get the number down to about 500.

One of the features I looked forward to was the new camera on the iPhone 4s. Sometimes I would like to snap a photo without pulling out my DSLR. Unless I was planning on producing more than an image for the web or a print not bigger than a 4 X 6, I don’t need the number of megapixels associated with a DSLR. Read More

Friday Photo – Waiting

On our way from San Cristobal Verapaz to Antigua we stopped for breakfast. The owner crafted an oasis of sorts for his guests. We enjoyed the company of a beautiful peacock. The landscaping beyond the restaurant highlighted the beauty of the landscape.

27 – Happy Birthday Kimberly

Her uncles are counting down. She is counting up. Trent will be on the beach in 7 days. Paul’s family will join him in the Dallas area in early May. They are counting days. Today Kimberly counts another year. But, not so fast.

We learned a habit from her Granny. You have not yet entered your next year until the hour and minute you were born. So, while she will celebrate today as her 27th birthday, I will keep with family tradition and say, “Not until about 7:20 p.m. this evening.”

Happy Birthday Kimberly! Your Momma and Daddy love you.

Wright-ing Land

Led Zepplin hit upon our human language dilemma in the rock classic, Stairway to Heaven,

There’s a sign on the wall but she wants to be sure

‘Cause you know sometimes words have two meanings.

In a tree by the brook, there’s a songbird who sings,

Sometimes all of our thoughts are misgiven.

Ooh, it makes me wonder,

Ooh, it makes me wonder.

Tuesday, April 18, Bryant Wright talked with Soledad O’Brien. I watched the video and read the transcript. On each occasion where Wright was asked about the substance of Land’s comments, even when offered an audio clip to specifically discuss, the response was the same. Land apologized. We should forgive.
