I rarely post on Sunday. There are more important things on my mind. I ran across this post by Addie Zierman over at Rachel Held Evans blog late yesterday. Her Guest Post, in Held’s Women of the Gospels Series, offered one more reflection on the Mark 5 text for this morning from the Revised Common Lectionary.

Zierman offers her choice as teaser for her readers to go over and read her post. It is the teaser I would offer too,

This is what last ditch effort looks like: a woman’s frantic grab at a stranger’s cloak.

He is walking by, and she has heard of him: whispers of healings, echoes of prophecy, murmurings of one who carries healing powers in the tassels of his robe.

Who can say what it feels like to bleed for twelve years, to find yourself perpetually on the wrong side of the line in a culture where there is Clean and there is Unclean?
