Rob Bell on Repentance …

Two videos in one week? Well, since I have been slow to post, I thought I would pass along a second video for this week. This week’s Lectionary reading includes a passage from Mark highlighting Jesus message of repentance. In a very succinct way, Bell prompts us to think about changing rather than bartering.

Wow. What a heretic. Rob Bell the legalist shows his true colors. Not like we didn’t already know he was all about being Sanctified by Roman Catholic works righteousness.

  2. Paula,
Interesting take on Bell. I have heard lots of things but your category for Rob is a first. We would disagree. Sure would be better not to throw around heretic unless you both define the term in the way you are using (i.e. reference to a specific heresy) and see if you can explicate your understanding of “working out your salvation with hear and trembling” with regard to sanctification.

I will disallow further caricatured comments. On the other hand, I would be happy to have a discussion on the subject. Your choice.

I for one am glad to see some of Robb’s stuff, I think what he does most is offend us in our fractured belief of what it means to believe in and be with God. We have such a structured idea of what that looks like and Robb Bell tends to break it down to the way that God had intended.
