How to break the summer heat wave in Oklahoma? Respond to an invitation to head West.

My friend Spencer invited me out for what I termed a “workation.” In the spirit of the “neologism,” I could not view the invitation to help work on a new project as merely a “working trip.” Surely it would be a mini-vacation. “Workation” made sense.

For about ten years I have made trips to the Beachshack. I count myself among the many who have “crashed on the couch.” Who wouldn’t when the office is the beach a couple of blocks away. Lunch on the boardwalk is a short bike ride.

Throw in the fact that I enjoyed meeting Bo “Daddy” Sanders, a PhD student at Claremont, and enjoyed theo-philosophical conversations with Tripp Fuller. In a forthcoming post I will reflect on our conversation partner, Mike.

This view caught my eye while working on a church planting website in the “living room” of the Beachshack.

Enjoy. I did.
