Happy Birthday … Keep on loving …

2006_littleton_family_aweb
My mother often told me on my birthday I would not be one year older until the clock hit the time I was delivered. This morning we called Kimberly (she is first on the left of the three women in my life) and I repeated my mother’s logic.

Me: "Kimberly, you will not be 22 until 7:20 p.m. this evening."

Kimberly: "You will have to call me during Bible Study this evening then."

The best thing to do was take her to lunch – Jason’s Deli. We enjoyed soup and salad on a rather cool April day. Cloudy and overcast but fun to sit with our oldest and chat away. I always liked John Mayer’s "Daughters." I pray my daughters love more and better than their Daddy. Going out with the reminder for other Dads who may be staring in the face of a young adult and remembering days now long gone …

Fathers, be good to your daughters

Daughters will love like you do

Girls become lovers who turn into mothers

So mothers be good to your daughters too

I only hope that I can love more and better than my daddy. God blessed me with two of the most amazing people in the world to teach me how to love. I don’t always find it easy to love but the two of you are always there to help me understand that sadly “It is not all about me.” Yes after 22 years that is the first and more than likely last time I will ever say that..ha ha! I love the two of you and could not ask for two better parents/best friends. Thank you for teaching me to love. Lunch was wonderful I just enjoy spending time with the two of you no matter what I am doing!! Thank you for your uncondtional love over the past 22 years.

    Happy Birthday Jo!

    I Love You,
    Uncle T

P.S. I know I’m late in saying this but why break a tradition? Maybe we could move your birthday to the 26th, I mean after all you were born at 7:20pm so the day is almost over at that point anyway.
