“Hold Me Momma!” – Weekly Video

Cohen will “officially” be one week old just before 7:00 p.m. this evening. Mom used to always remind us that though our birthdate may be, in my case May 10, we the full 365-24-hour-days had not yet passed. I am certain it was a way to tease us. After all “Big Paw” was a stoic ham, always teasing us with that ever so straight face. So “officially” Cohen Alan will be one week old this evening according to his GG’s framing of time.

Yesterday, Kimberly got to hold Cohen Alan for the first time. He has been in the “box” accessible only by the portholes in the side. Craig has held him through the portholes while they change his bedding. But not the “Kangaroo Care” familiar to many a NICU preemie program. This week’s (first) video (of Cohen) is of momma holding the little one. The video is in the right sidebar.

To date he has gained back to his birth weight and a little beyond. He is taking nourishment. He still has a little fluid around his heart. But so far it is not “red alert.” Instead we are told he just needs to eat and grow and then “Home!”

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.
