Movie/Documentary Screening …

Wednesday we were invited to preview a documentary to be released locally on November 5 titled, “Beyond the Gates of Splendor.” Everytribe Entertainment produced the peice chronicling the story of five missionary families in Ecuador in the early to mid 1950’s.

I found the moving inspiring. It may be a good lead in to the feature film to be relesed next year, “End of the Spear.” It may be a “coffee table movie.” You know, the kind of film you take someone to without much fanfare, who may or may not have any experience with faith in Jesus and after watching create an occasion for an ongoing conversation about faith.

The film, may stir the people of God to live more missional lives. This may even be more significant than taking a friend in need to see the film. The opportunity to encourage the people of God, the Church, to be the Church all the time will crate engaging moments not just in theatres. We may not need anything more than real life to make these intersections – these kinds of films would be a bonus.

Go see the film.
