Scandalous Meals – Weekly Video

We tend to think of relationships in terms of exchanges. You do [blank] for me, and I will [blank] for you. Jean Vanier reminds viewers of Jesus’ radicalized invitation. Offer hospitality to those who have nothing to offer in return. Now that would be a Jesus-y thing to do.

Sadly the way in which we in the church often evaluate what we do is based on a particular exchange rate. How many families will we gain? How will this impact our bottom line? What are the measurable results?

Maybe this video will give something to stew over for those of us committed to radicalizing the scandalous love of Jesus by offering “scandalous meals.”
