The malady of delusion …

Merriam-Webster Online offers the following definition for "delusion",

b : a persistent false psychotic belief regarding the
self or persons or objects outside the self that is maintained despite
indisputable evidence to the contrary; also : the abnormal state marked by such beliefs

Occasionally we may tell ourselves a story or myth we know to be of our own making. The longer we tell ourselves the story, the more we begin to live into that story believing it to be the new reality for us. Evidently I have a reader who stopped by to snag my e-mail but did not stay long enough to read long. He/she may not return. But, who knows.

In the event my lurker returns I hope this post may be something of a trigger for dialogue. When a community determines the morals by which it will operate those who choose to participate consent to abide those standards. Once a member of the community determines to live outside those moral standards they lose all rights to upbraid another for the failure to live by the agreed upon values. Jesus said something about the care needed when it comes to judging lest the very ruler one uses on another will then be turned to size up the self.

God speed and care when operating from the position of delusion to excoriate another. The house of cards will inevitably fall and the exposure embarrassing.
