On the previous post …

Caught In the Middle posted his thoughts on the resolution on Christian Education before I did.

I am going to offer a post that offers commentary on the resolution.

In the meantime, I am want to offer a substitute resolution (which in the end may categorize me as dissenting) –

WHEREAS, in Scripture we find Jesus calling people to follow him, and

WHEREAS, we find at least the TWELVE who left all to follow Jesus, and

WHEREAS, Scripture also indicates Jesus spent time with “prostitutes and sinners”, and

WHEREAS, we should continue to reach out to people in the same manner,

Therefore, BE IT RESOLVED, that we encourage all followers of Jesus to frequent brothels and bars declaring the gospel of God, the resurrection of Jesus, the King, looking forward to the kind of soul transformation wrought by the grace work of the Spirit of God illustrated by the faith of those who will leave their “nets” and follow Jesus.

Is this IN ADDITION to the resolution of private Christian educations (or home schooling)!? Oh wait a minute you wanted to be dissenting… I guess we can leave our kids in the public schools — that leaves more funds for the cover charges. 🙂

Fantastic resolution!! I wish I was still a baptist just so I could witness your proposal. (okay, no I don’t.. but if part of me did, it would want to witness your resolution). 😉
