Mail Call . . . Letter (not) from Jesus

Just what I had been looking for. A letter from Jesus. Yesterday, I discovered that Jesus speaks to me through Timothy. Said representative is a self-appointed, though he claims “divine” authority, prophet to the world, the church, and all who will click over to his website.

I generally file this type in File 13 immediately. But, it is not everyday you receive a letter with “Jesus the Christ” in place of a “Return Address.” The author claims an unspoiled elitism having had a Joseph Smith styled visitation from God to disclose the ongoing writing of the word of God.

Ironies are in abundance. The vitriolic letter directed at churches and pastors came in an envelope stamped with a heart by the USPS. Sadly, the letter came from a local source, or minion, out of Oklahoma City. The letters to the Churches in Revelation indicate Jesus knew something about the particular churches. Yet, by his own admission, this fellow hasnot attended a church of any kind. So, alas, a self-righteous critic.

Then it dawned on me. Even in this sad, delusional diatribe, there is something to take away (before I offer it to the recycling basket). Maybe said person has been the recipient of another’s self-righteous criticism. Our rejoinder should be the refrain of Jesus, “love your neighbor as yourself.”
