On the road with friends … learning the order of the day …

Youth ministry today presents a bit of a riddle. Cultural shifts of significant proportions require thinking about transmitting the value of life and faith to youth a challenge. Mark Riddle draws together some thoughts garnered and questions created by a series of conference calls for the ETREK course, “Re-Imagining Youth Ministry.” Nathan and I are in Hatfield, PA for the second two-day learning gathering. I always learn a great deal from Mark, the students and the rich conversations enjoyed. Biblical Seminary is exploring theological education in some great ways. I enjoyed my visit with President Dave Dunbar and am looking forward to a bit of time with Todd Mangum. We listened to the challenging thoughts of John Franke over lunch (I will post more about this later). Most think it a vacation of sorts. In reality it is a refreshing couple of days of learning with great friends.
